A book I read this week has affected me more than any other book I’ve read this year. If you hop on over to Book In The Bag you can read all about it.
This wasn’t the review I was going to write. I had planned all along to review Kameron Hurley’s Bel Dame Apocrypha series, but this book was so…impactful…I had to talk about it.
Impactful? (She says icily, in her best Maggie Smith/Downton Abbey voice…)
I was overwrought 😉
Pardon the brevity and the typos. This was sent from my iPhone.
Ought that not to be your best Maggie Smith/The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie voice?
I read the review. Seems like the book left a dent after all.
In my experience, bad books often leave more of a dent than the good ones. I’m remarkably sure that books like 50 shades (which I’m sorry I read) and House of Holes (which I’m sorry I even touched) and authors like Ayn Rand (her books fly beautifully when thrown across the house) will always stay with me, but I can’t recall the last few decent books I read off the top of my head right now.
