"Read, read, read. Read everything -- trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master. Read! You'll absorb it.
Then write. If it's good, you'll find out. If it's not, throw it out of the window."

Oh dear, Kat, I feel ya. But sometimes it’s just that their office is a mess.
;-p
There is that.
But really, in the cases whereof I speak, it is all a dodge to avoid accountability.
*SNORK*
Kat, I know. That’s why I’m sympathizing with you in case you were the one who got, um, not accounted to. But for those folks with messy offices, keeping people out while avoiding having them think you are one of those is a fine line to walk. Not that I know anyone with that problem, of course.
Just tell them “then you won’t mind if I record this conversation.”
RECORD, RECORD, RECORD!!
Having a personal moment here as this has happened to me recently.
Just record.
***breath***
I’ve started recording, but only recently. And for this exact reason.
Recording is a great idea…Question: What type of recording device do you use, Kat?
I record any and all business, customer service, etc. type calls. I have VOIP so it’s a matter of just pressing 3, then later going to the website and downloading the call onto my computer.
Only thing to remember is that you’re required by law to let them know you’re recording. Can’t forget to tell them.
