I love them! A house without bookshelves is an unhappy house.

My mother's side of the family is filled with book lovers and I think every house in the family (including Mom's & my own) has had numerous bookshelves and tons of books. My mom sent me an email the other day with a link to a palatial estate she had found in Virginia on the 'Net in which, judging by the history, the family who built and stayed in that home for years and years likely were distant relatives of ours. There was a video tour available of several of the rooms and Mom said "look at the bookshelves in the den".

Yep, I'm pretty sure those folks were relatives judging by the bookshelves and books!
