This is one of those posts where I’d like to be all self-righteous and complain about the nasty people in the world who dump dogs they’re tired of. But I can’t talk too big, since I’m not in a position right now to give either of these kids homes.
A friend of ours found them dumped in Hamilton Creek Park yesterday and asked that we help him in finding them homes. Husband just got back from their photo shoot and says they’re both full chocolate labs, approximately 8months old.
If you know of anyone who would like to give these kids a home, please contact me.

Thanks.

Are they boys or girls? Are they housebroken?
Are they boys or girls? Are they housebroken?
Good question…let me ask…
::few minutes later::
They are both boys. Our friend hasn’t had them inside so he doesn’t know if they’re housebroken. They are both bright and appear well-trained. They know commands like “sit” and “stay”. They are very personable. Husband says that he spent 10 minutes with them and they warmed up to him almost instantly.
One is more dominant and the other is more shy. He and our friend assume they’re litter-mates and haven’t been parted.
How do you know they didn’t run away? They are gorgeous, and I wish we could have them. Labs are such wonderful pets, especially with children. Unfortunately, we have a houseful already.
I’m glad you posted their pictures, though. They will make someone very happy!
Labs are the best! I posted a pic recently of the other love of my life, who was a chocolate lab.
Anyone reading this who is thinking about taking these dogs…do it!
Chocolate labs are loving, smart, friendly, great with kids, loyal, funny, happy dogs.
You couldn’t ask for two new best friends than the ones Kat may have found for you.
GO get them!
(I live in a small condo with an old dog, so there is no way I can take them in)
I could just die, I can’t believe someone would abandon those two like that. Maybe they are just lost? In any case I hope they find a good home together. Labs are SUCH good dogs.
Oh man, what cuties. I hope somebody can keep the two together. My parents have black lab/chow mixes I found dumped near an old workplace – I think a lot of people are suckered by the cute lab puppies, then can’t deal when they get big but are still chewy.
Uh, “chewy” as in they like to chew things, not “chewy” as in gnawing on your dog. Ahem.
Hopefully you’ll find someone who can take them. It’s amazing to me how hard it can sometimes be finding and animal a home.
The Boyfriend™ and I will be in the market for a couple of dogs in about a year (once we build and move into our new house and have a good 4 acres to play with the dogs in), but for now, we just have to stick with our cats. We actually just took a new kitten in that had been abandoned at a very young age. We had to bottle-feed her at first, though she’s on solid food now, and she still is quarantined from out other two cats because she’s not yet old enough to be definitively tested for FIV or FELV.
My screen was set in such a way that I read “Abandoned Puns Need Home” & I started laughing myself sweaty in anticipation. Damn. I’m all dogged up, but I may know a gal . . .

Heh, yup. I have found it’s pretty much a given that two years old is the magic number for stopping the majority of chewing (but not usually all, just the worst of it)… as well as getting better about the bathroom stuff (especially with boy dogs).
